Undispeakable Act: UNILAG SEX FOR GRADE SCANDAL

One of the prestigious university in Nigeria, the
University of Lagos popularly called "UNILAG" has been the topic on social medias following the revelation in the "Sex for Grade" documentary video released by BBC Africa Eye, the University of Lagos has shut down the 'Cold Room' where lecturers were accused of sexually assaulted students. 

According to a lecturer of the institution Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu, the cold room is located at the upper floor of UNILAG. in a documentary filmed discretly by BBC. Boniface described the room as a place where lecturers meet to 'touch students breast' at the staff club of the University. He explained to BBC that female students must pay to have good grades.

The report was announced on Monday in a statement released by the principal assistant registrar (communication unit) of the institution, Taiwo Oloyede. She said the University has a rigid stated "Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual and Romantic Relationship," and assured the public that any other lecturer mention in full version of the operation, will also be suspended to ensure a proper investigation. 

She said various committee has been put in place to investigate reports received and those found guilty were sanction. it's embarrassing and other Universities in Nigeria should take proactive action to ensure this act doesn't occur in the future.
